We set one cookie, cookie_consent, purely to remember whether you've accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we don't ask you again on every visit. This is essential to the consent mechanism itself and doesn't require your permission under UK PECR rules.
If you accept cookies, we load Google Analytics (GA4), which sets its own cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) to help us understand which pages and guides are actually useful — for example, how many people search a postcode, or which guide gets read most. Google may process this data on servers outside the UK/EEA as part of providing that service; see Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle it.
If you decline, Google Analytics never loads and none of its cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time using the button below.
We don't currently run any advertising cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated first to name exactly what's used and by whom, and — as with analytics — it will only load after you consent.
You can change your choice at any time using the link below, or by clearing cookies for this site in your browser settings.
